My Suzuki Swift Averages 14KM/L

When dad initially got the Suzuki Swift 1.5L about a month plus ago, we weren't exactly excited or awed by its performance. Alright, dad wasn't so much of a speed enthusiast, so he didn't cared much. What he cared most was the fuel consumption. With all the hype about rising fuel prices (now at a staggering 140 dollars a barrel), hybrid cars, and CNG, what we needed most is a fuel efficient car.

When we just bought it, the Swift wasn't actually fuel economical. The car had a built in KM/L indicator built into the dashboard, and was averaging about 12KM/L. But when the weeks passed, and after the first servicing was done, the average improved to about 13.8 - 14.5 KM/L. Not so bad compared to our HUGE Matrix at approximately 8-10KM/L.

Dad was keen on getting the Toyota Prius, this super green car. But there are concerns on whether the car can actually accelerate quickly (dad has a tendency to weave in and out of traffic to get ahead). I told him that electric cars should accelerate faster than normal cars as electric motors can produce quite an amount of torque based on my experience in robotics as I've seen small motors having the ability to pull a man with little electricity.

Juicedhybrids.com is a useful website to get more info and spare parts to improve your green car. If you're super green, there are products on the site that enables the car to ONLY run on electric as seen here. That is, if you got an electric car in the first place. lolx.

There are also fuel saving products that can help you improve your mileage. This isn't actually the cheap fuel saving magnets that you can find normally, but something much more promising. And finally, to top it off, why not get green cleaners for your car? That'll round off your green movement then.

On another note, dad just mounted a kerb using his front bodywork while parking. Have a look below.

Dang, that just sucks... Hate it when that happens. Oh well, as long as it wasn't me who did it, I'll not get a scolding. haha. Drive safely guys!
