2 Breakdowns, 3 Accidents, What's Up with SG Drivers?

It is an unlucky day for Singaporean motorists today as I came across two accidents, one vehicle caught fire and two vehicle breakdowns on a single expressway. What are the odds? 2 accidents yes, its kinda common, but 5 incidents all along East Coast Parkway (ECP)? Haiz haiz...

First one happened along the East-bound side of ECP, close to the up and coming Integrated Resort. The accident involved a motorcycle and a car on the first lane. And not far down the road, there was a breakdown at lane #5. Hopefully there are no injuries sustained to those involved.

Then as I was heading the opposite direction, returning home, I came across another accident. This time involving a bus which had its windscreen shattered to bits at lane #1. The driver was nowhere to be seen.

And not far down the road, there was a breakdown at the extreme left lane.

And when I thought everything was over, I came across this flaming truck a few hundred metres up the Sheares Bridge near the Rochor Exit. Like WTH?!

Normally I'd take about an hour and 10mins to make the round trip to Bedok, but these accidents successfully extended the journey by a good 25 - 35mins.

I personally think the flaming lorry and the bus are linked. From the damage sustained to the bus, I think the bus was originally travelling alongside the lorry's right. And drivers, I'm sure you know that the Sheares bridge has some of the narrowest lanes, and because of that, these two vehicles have no space and end up crashing into each other, shattering the bus' windscreen.

Moral of the story? Drive carefully especially along the Benjamin Sheares Bridge. Look out for the narrow lanes!
