Cats Do Not Have 9 Lives

Woke up very very late today to find out that a friend has just lost her pet to an illness just this morning. Its as if it was yesterday that we were talking about her pet, what breed it was and what does it do when she's at her most active. Memories we share with our pets are somewhat painted only in happiness for these animals do not know the meaning of hatred, revenge or ill intentions.

We share our sorrows with them when we're down, and its comforting to see them purring at our laps telling us that its gonna be okay. At times when I didn't have a good day in school or at work, just the sight of them at the doorstep makes me happy, knowing that I have a pet to return to and that I need to pick myself up and remain strong. Not to mention those days when I got jealous because they can sleep all they want whilst I am here at the table slogging away at school work.

There are so many wonderful things that happens when we have pets around. We learn to be more forgiving, see things in a lighter way and learn what is unconditional love. We can't punish them if they break a glass whilst in pursuit of a flying cockroach. Nor can we penalise them for making such a mess at their kitty pan as it is good enough that they do their stuff at the pan. Though they are only 1/8 or less as intelligent as us humans, there are just so many things we can learn from these wonderful God given creatures. All they want is a little food, some water, and a lot of love...... My condolences to Kitty.
