Battles are meant to be fought, wars meant to be won, and skirmishes, part and parcel of everyday life. Everyday, we engage in at least one of the three listed above, and it comes to no surprise that there are times when we have to fight through them, alone. Ahhhh, loneliness, its becoming a close friend to me...
The War I call the degree, the battle I call the Exam, and the skirmishes I call, the daily life in school. There are friends who will fight alongside you, fighting with you everyday, holding your hand when it gets too tough, while there are some who play a bit-part in the battle, succumbing to defeat before the battle ends. Some never even stand on the frontlines, and eventually lag behind and do not progress beyond their homes.
I find strength in friends who are forward-looking, who motivate and those who inspire. There are lessons to be learnt from them, and just being with them generates a "good-feel" in your gut. On the other hand, I find it hard to keep friends who lag behind, who criticise and never put up a fight. Like how a friend puts it, they are like poison. They poison your mind into thinking mediocrity, and it is this mediocre aspirations that will pull you back from achieving your fullest potential. Pity is the only word I have for them and as much as I would like to stop and cheer them on, I have my own battles to fight.
If you are engaged in a War, a battle, or just taking part in small skirmishes, ensure that you fight. Fight with all your might, never give up. With friends, you are stronger. With friends, you have greater firepower. And with friends, you can overcome even the biggest, fiercest challenges.
Its a Sunday morning. And I'm trudging off to school, to fight. I think you should too.

"You did your hair," she remarked as she down next to me.
"And you put make-up on, you look pretty." She was irresistible. A green dress, matching black cardigan, and hair tied-up in a ponytail, just the way I like it. And somehow, something is telling me that this is by no means, a coincidence.
"Its a date isn't it MrWiseGuy?" she replied as she straightened my collar.
