I got myself an LCD screen just a few hours back, and I am one satisfied customer!
Bought the Full HD LG W2261V LCD Screen at SGD$258. I'm not sure if its a steal but from my ground recce, I think it is one of the best bang for buck monitor over at the show. It comes with an Analog Input, DVI Input and HDMI. Cool! Now all I need is a DVD player with HDMI output! Weeee~
I was tempted to go for the Acer 23" LCD Screen going at SGD$249. I was critical of the Acer price because from what I see, the built looked cheap as compared to the LG which has a Samsung look-alike reflective plastic finish to it. And when I looked closer, the screen belong to the Acer X Series and not to the multimedia series and thus, I suspected a difference in performance.
I was thinking to myself, how come the Acer staff is showing only static pictures in its live demo, while LG had some DVDs playing on its screens. Dang, LG looked wayyy better in my opinion and it helps to have both booths nearby. Furthermore, the Acer had a response time of 5ms, while LG had 2ms. I shuttled between the booths for a few times, making sure that the extra $9 I'm going to pay for a smaller screen is worth it. After much thought and grilling salespersons from both sides, I decided to go for the LG.
Man, I'm not regretting it one bit. I've got a better looking monitor, my images are crisp, and at least the monitor matches with the colour of my desk and speakers. lolx! Talk about aesthetics!
