GIP India, Day 56, Pandav Caves.

We did something exciting last weekend. Something that we didn't know would be labeled treacherous and dangerous according to Wikipedia. And that something would be visiting Pandav Caves. Go check out Panda Caves at Wikipedia, and scroll down to the bottom. They'd say something about the path to the summit and such.

Emo-ing in front of Mahindra Guest House.

Pandav Caves is just a 10minutes auto ride away. It looks like a very big pile of sand from our house, and not intimidating at all. In fact, it looks kinda tame and boy, were we wrong. Very wrong. Its about 250m in height according to Google Earth, and if I get my conversions right...

The pile of sand I was talking about.

Proper steps lead up to the caves.

The caves were halfway up the hill but we were looking for something more. Something more interesting. Something challenging. So, we found a small path, that leads up to the summit. :)

Timer shots are da bomb!

Photobucket
The sandy, dusty, no grip path that goes up.

It was a tough climb I would say. Terrain was sandy, very dry, and the midday sun was burning our backs. Took us a good 45mins to reach the top. I was kinda worried considering that we didn't bring anything to cover our head, and not a bottle of water. But we pressed on like all good soldiers do. Once there, the view was breathtaking... Subhanallah. Shall let the emo shots speak for itself.

Nashik boys... Or what...

Moments before the triple backflip and a double tuck.

Photobucket
Lonely... I am so lonely... I have nobody...

Photobucket
We are so gay.

Photobucket
The Spice Girls.

Photobucket
Yes my friends, there's a bench at the summit. One, pathetic, bench.

Photobucket
Speechless.

What goes up must come down, and for the first time ever in my gazillion posts on India, MrWiseGuyBlog.com brings to you full-motion pictures, from Nashik.

On the way down from the summit, I kinda got injured. Nothing serious, just that my right arm caught on some thorns. Although it wasn't serious, it definitely reminded me that we are not invincible, and if anyone of us cocks up, that's it for us.

Photobucket
4 deep ones, 2 minor ones.

Photobucket
The caves were similar to the ones in Ajanta & Ellora.

Photobucket
Really!

Photobucket
Sculptures too! No, not the one in blue!

The visit was worth it. We took those emo shots that is worthy of being printed and put on our desks. heheh. At the same time, we got to visit those caves which are definitely breathtaking and one can't stop wondering who in the right mind would go so high up to carve out those temples.

No trip is complete w/o REAL FOOD.
