There are many avenues as to acquire free apps for your Android Phone. And as recently as last week, Google renamed its Android Market to Google Play, which in my opinion is a move to better take on Apple.
This move is definitely welcomed as the re-positioning of Android phones to become more mainstream would only mean better apps and functionality in the market as developers see more incentive and sense in spending money on the Android system. In an odd way, Android phones forms a huge part of G33K culture, and a small voice squeaks, "We do not want Fan Boys adopting Android!"
