Following Advice.

An old person might give you good advice, but when that person is too old to be even relevant to today's times, you're on your own now. I found that out the hard way when I was in the polytechnic when the advice given to me by elders, just brought me into deeper trouble. It wasn't relevant to today's times, and I had no choice, but to accept failure and learn from that mistake.

Yes, you should listen to your elders, to your parents and wise ones when you're younger. But when you've come to an age where change is the only constant, and you have to think on your feet all the time, their advice might be obsolete by the time you put them into practice.

The solution? Do not follow their advice blindly.

Instead, always reflect on your actions, on your deeds and your perceptions. Is it right to behave that way? Is it okay to say those words? Did I hurt anybody with my actions? At the end of the day, if your conscience is clear and you feel good about yourself, then you did the right thing. Be true to yourself, and don't let the past haunt you.

Finally, Mind your Own Business... And you'll be fine.
