After bitching about that stooopid LHM Racing bike shop at JB, let me praise this bike shop (Hou Heng Bike Shop) for their superb know-how and service. I had merely wanted to change my engine oil and rear drum brake pads, but somehow, things led to another, and I ended up changing a lot of things.
My experience started off on the wrong foot though. The moment I rode up to the shop this kid, about Primary 5 or 6 came up to me and asked "Ada apa abang? Boleh saya tolong?" (Yes big brother? Can I help?) No thanks to the experience with the boys at LHM Racing, my mood changed for the worse. I told him about my oil and brakes, and he pointed me into the shop, where an elder, more mature fellow came to take over.
Turns out, that boy was like a receptionist for the shop. Thank God! I saw him doing the clearing of tools, attending to potential customers and doing basic tasks.
While the mechanic was fixing up the bike, I thought I should give my carb a good washing, and told him to. And when he was done and fixed it up, he heard the annoying knocking sound which had bugged my bike for the past year when he started the cold engine. He didn't bat an eyelid and told me that the tensioner needs replacing. I was skeptical because my previous mechanic at LHM said there was smth wrong with my piston. But I gave him the benefit of the doubt, and let him change, with the condition that if it doesn't solve the problem, he has to take it out.
OMG. And when he replaced it, no knocking sound! I was so happy la~
Then came the rear brakes. When he was done with it and give the engine a rev, immediately he found that there was something wrong with the chains. He showed me that some parts of the chain are in good condition, while some, have gone loose. OMG. I swore he was like a God-Mechanic of sorts. Got the chain and sprocket changed, and I was damn happy la~
Conclusion, bike as good as just come out from shop!!!! <3 <3 <3!!!
This was my damage:
1) Sprocket + Chain = RM65
2) Tensioner = RM40
3) Wash Carb = RM13
4) Engine Oil = RM13
5) Rear Brakes = RM14
Exchange rate was SGD$100 = RM$243.
