GIP India, Day 3, Symbiosis International University

Photobucket
View of Singapore's East Coast Park.

It is now Day 3 of the Global Immersion Programme study component at Symbiosis International University. Took the Kingfisher Flight and landed safely at 1315, Mumbai Time. The internet was haywire when we arrived having been disconnected frequently and naturally, we could not get online except for yesterday when there was a brief window whereby the internet was up and running.

Pune,India
This is Mumbai. Traffic in Pune is relatively better than Mumbai.

Pune,India
Slums right beside the runway. Macam Slumdog Millionaire.

Manhunt Mumbai, 2010.

One might imagine India to be filled with plantations, slums, all things associated with 3rd World countries. Here in Pune, things are really different. There are several office buildings here and there, a smattering of modern shopping malls in a manner much similar to Johor Bahru, Malaysia. I have been to Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Beijing, but nothing compares to the traffic here in Pune, or possibly India. Bikes, Auto Taxis, Cars, Lorries, Buses, Bicycle, Pedestrians all jostle for space on a narrow two-lane road.

MrWiseGuy, go take a picture with the man! Same shirt colour!

The Sunset is EXTREMELY beautiful.

The hostel room is Ginormous!

I have no complaints about the toilet.

Weather-wise, it is cool. On a typical night like today, the temperature will hover at about 23 degrees Celsius. Winter wear is not necessary, and I have been wearing my jeans, t-shirt and sweater for my outings. It is really nice here, except for the pollution from traffic.

To Obtain the fare: Meter Reading, multiply by 7 and add 3. No wonder the ndians are good in math.

Seriously, Domino's are here.

It took us about 4 hours to sign up for an Indian Idea line.

Mealtime.

The food is as spicy as my mom’s cooking. Most of the stuff here are vegetarian, or egg-based and its really really tough to find chicken in wing-form or drumstick form. In other words, chicken are served in slices, and its hard to see a piece of a chicken.

Hmmm… I wonder why I’m blogging as if I am writing a report. Heh. Maybe its just the first post and I'm writing a short documentary of sorts. Oh well.

Day 1, we reached the hostel at about 2000 hours, had dinner and retired in our dorms.

Day 2, we went to the Police Commissioner's Office to register our presence.

Day 3, today, we went to the Idea Showroom to get out Indian lines.

Alright... I am really really tired now. Gotta go! Will blog whenever I've got the time!
