GIP India, Day 32, 1 Week of Work Down.

Smiling is infectious; you catch it like the flu,
When someone smiled at me today I started smiling too.
I passed around the corner and someone saw my grin,
And when he smiled I realised I'd passed it on to him.

Times like these are a test of a man's sanity and endurance. Nevertheless, we gotta make full use of it and here I am, online and blogging. Instead of writing about myself, let's write about the place I call home for the next 5 months, CIDCO.

The road out of home. Straight ahead through the gantry is the swimming pool.

There's a mechanic at the shop on the extreme left where the bike is. To the right is the Dhoby.

India,Nashik,CIDCO
Hey, the dhoby still uses an old school charcoal iron! It costs 10 rupees per piece to get it cleaned and ironed.

The supermarket is not at all bad and just an 8mins walk out. We have bought pails, chocolate, soap, shampoo and even cold milk from that particular shop. Best thing is, the staff are very helpful and invited us in to the shop to allow us to see what they have to offer. Everything here in India comes in small quantities. For example, it is rather difficult to find toiletries in volume of 1litre or more. Everything comes in the small quantities.

The unassuming telco shop.

The shop owner sends an sms to the operator to top up our cards.

The entrance to our 'bungalow'.

Alright guys, time to go. The caretaker's stand-in (since its a Sunday) is making a lot of noise and getting onto our nerves. Till next time... =)

Wak Yana,

I'm not too sure why, but things are very small. 200ml and 300ml bottles are very common. The supermarket is legendary la...

Ma,

Nope! I haven't got the time and energy to swim. Wahlau, everyday eat carbohydrates and no protein. Must conserve whatever remaining protein I have to grow strong!
