I think the food problem I face here in Nashik deserve some special mention in this blog. It is not at all horrendous to the extent that I will vomit the moment the food goes down the gullet. Rather, eating no longer gives me the happiness that I can derive when I’m back in Singapore. Eating is seen as a task, a chore, a burden, and I do not look forward to meal times. Especially lunch.
Here’s some of the food they serve us during lunch time. There a specific menu for each day and non-veg days are on tue and fri. God bless us.
I think it is a waste for them to cook such good food in a boring way. Sometimes I wonder if these cooks ever explored other cooking methods such as frying, steaming, baking. Instead of serving us chicken curry, why don’t you put on a bit of flour, sprinkle a bit of salt and lots of black pepper to give us fried chicken? It beats having to eat curry, chicken with green gravy, chicken with brown gravy, chicken with purple gravy, chicken with *insert colour* gravy. OMG.
How I miss my cockles from Choa Chu Kang.
How I miss my crab from Singgah Selalu.
How I miss mom’s steamed fish.
How I miss Kentucky Fried Chicken.
DAMMIT I MISS MY OWN BLACK PEPPER STEAK.
