The Right Time to be Courageous.

What comes to mind when you hear the word courage? Is it tough being courageous?

That penguin is so cute! I love penguins. The penguin enclosure was (in my opinion) the only exhibit worth visiting the last time I headed to the Bird Park. They're so cute. And they look sharp everyday with those tuxedos on.

On a more related note, I found out another aspect where being courageous can be implemented; in conversation. I wonder how angry tweets, Facebook wall messages, and other social media postings about the deficiencies of their friends / family / peers come about. Most of the time, readers know who it is intended for based on the situation the writer was in. Readers are very savvy nowadays; looking into friend profiles, hacking into databases, reading countless histories, (add stalker activity here), et cetera. Readers are so savvy that most of the time, their guesses are spot on.

The point I'm making is the method of handling the problem.
  1. What are they trying to achieve by doing as such?
  2. Were they not courageous enough to tell it in the face of the intended?
  3. By doing so, does it solve the problem?
Sure, some argue that it is a means of letting if off your chest. Mind you, Man was living happily before social media (twitter, facebook, podocot, youtube) was created. And no, I believe it doesn't solve the problem at hand. I honestly believe that the problem might even be brought to a higher level.

Now, who likes to hear other people announce to the world how much they hate anything about you? It sucks doesn't it? Is it safe to conclude that the writer wrote what he/she wrote because he/she wants to hurt the intended recipient?

Yeap, I think so too. Perhaps if the writer had the courage to tell it in the face of the recipient, things would turn out much better. Maybe an argument would follow, but hey, at least nothing is left in the dark. A healthy fight would ensue, some shouting, fists may be thrown. At the end of the day, the message is sent through.

I'll leave you guys with something I hold onto. FYI, Prophet Muhammad S.A.W. is my role model, and yeap, his advice are awesome all the time.

From Abu Huraira the Messenger of Allah said, "Whoever Believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him say what is good or be silent. And Those who Believe in Allah and the Last Day, let him glorify its neighbors. Those who Believe in Allah and the Last Day let him glorify his guest. "
