GIP India, Day 8, Symbiosis Viswabhawan Guest House.

Since today is another boring day of lectures and stuff, I'm gonna share with you the place I call home for 3 weeks here in Pune. It is nothing like what I had in mind and I must say, I am very pleased with what they have given us.

First and foremost, there is internet. Yey for Internet. I believe everyone will die without the net as it is a means of communication with the people we love in Singapore. i.e. www.mrwiseguyblog.com

You need to open and close the elevator doors manually.

Meet Ahmed, he is THE man to contact if we have any problems with our rooms.

We stay on the eleventh floor of a twelve storey building, and most of the time, we take an elevator up. The elevator is super old school in a sense that one has to open and close the doors manually, and the best part is, the elevator will not move if the elevator doors are not closed. This is a great disadvantage especially when the previous user forgets to close the elevator door. So at times, we had to trek up eleven stories when the elevator screws up. And its so super slow, you lose less than 10 seconds taking the stairs. Oh, and its super small too! Only 4 people (or 5 small-built people) are allowed at any one time!

So Ahmed is sort of our Hostel caretaker. He will be there when we wake up, and will be waiting patiently for our return at night. At times, we feel real bad cause he's really nice and checks on us regularly to see if we got enough drinking water in our rooms, or if we need a change of bedsheets.

Breakfast is served at our doorstep!

Thank God breakfast is served at our doorstep. Like seriously. It is right at the door, and its great that we need not trek so far to get food. Because here in India, if they say a journey is 2 hours, it is in practice 4 hours. If they say a place is near, it is quite far. If it is far, it is VERY far. So yeap, even though the nearest makan place is 'near,' it ain't actually convenient.

The Room has 2 beds, 1 tv, 1 toilet, 1 table, 2 chairs, 2 ceiling fans and a balcony.

The toilet has hot and cold water. Hot water is available from 6-11am.

Overall, accommodation is superb and exceeded my expectations by a great deal! I just hope the next accommodation at my place of internship is better than this! :) Anyway, I'll be heading to Sandvik tomorrow! Can't wait to take lots and lots of pics!

Well, you can't complain about the elevator when your food is right at your door-step! :)

Distance is no problem for people living in harsh conditions actually, unlike us who will complain like hell if we are ask to walk an extra meter or so to the bus-stop!

That's why they can produce very good athletes and we can't...

Anyway, you got a good dorm and a Jaga. That should be a blessing enough. :D

Nurus,

The usual spread for breakfast is toast, hard-boiled egg, some Indian egg dish, chapati (sometimes), and some other indian curry look-a-like dish.

Yarrr... Pagi2 makan curry look-a-like. sianz la. But i usually have toast and a huge serving of the Indian egg dish. :)

TV is fully hindi except for HBO and Star World I think. But the ads are all Hindi. :)

Say Hi to your mom for me ya... Get her to comment here or smth la~

Keep the comments coming Nurus! And check out the facial post!

Wak Yana,

Over here, they walk a lot. They walk and walk and walk. But the good thing about Singaporean men is that because we've been to army, the Indians generally respect us and don't treat us as push-overs.

Check out my facial post kies! hehehe...
